A 17 day classic self drive tour of New England.
Traveling Through All Six New England States, this tour is perfect for those who want a mix of both the modern and the traditional.
Choose our standard hotel package if you dont mind a more modest accommodation, but still like to be in the best locations.

Departing from the UK on your flight with Icelandair you will arrive refreshed and ready to start the first part of your holiday.

You will be spending the first two nights in the beautiful city of Reykjavik at the incredible Rekjavik Centrum Hotel, a hotel that has the best location in the city, with rooms and service that will amaze you from the moment you pull up outside the hotel entrance.

Spend your time doing what ever you wish whether that be taking a tour of the southern part of the country, going whale watching, taking a tour to see the filming locations from The Game Of Thrones, or just wondering around this great city. What every you decide to do we know you will just love your time here.

Making your way back to the airport take the short hop across the pond to the city of Boston, the capital of the New England Region.
Your first two nights in the United States will be in Boston, home of the Red Sox.
This city has something for everyone and its been a firm favourite for years. A city full of museums, music venues, theatres and the delicious Clam Chowder.
Know matter where you stay in Boston you are just moments away from an incredible experience, but the Back Bay Area of the city is one of the best as you are just steps away from the Boston Public Library, Beacon Hill and also the Freedom Trail.
Boston Harbour.
With your time in Boston make sure that you visit the famous Cheers Bar and have a meal at the Black Rose, just to the left of Quincy Market. Take the T to Cambridge and see Harvard university. If you fancy a tour of the city what better way than to take a Duck Tour, a tour that is just as good on land as it is in the water.
Bostons Beacon Hill.

Superior - Hilton Back Bay Hotel.
After your two nights in Boston its time to collect your car and hit the road.
Leaving the bright lights behind, head to Salem, home of the famous witch trials, visit before Halloween and be amazed at the decorations that are a sight to behold.
Maine - New England.
Make your way to Portland with its Old Port Exchange and incredible lobster before checking into your hotel for the night.

Superior - Hilton Garden Inn Freeport.
On to Bar Harbor, on Mount Desert Island, with lakes, forests and over 300 different types of birds.
Bar Harbor.
You will spend two nights here, giving you time to fully explore the area, taking time to gaze at the 19th century mansions that tower over the water. Bar Harbor has over 100 different restaurants and sidewalk cafes so you will be spoilt for choice. On your free day take the drive to the top of Cadallic Mountain, the highest point on the eastern seaboard, get there before daybreak and be the first in the country to welcome the sun.

Superior - Bluenose Inn.
Now, for a day of stunning drives as you leave the Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor as you drive to the White Mountains, from forests to fields, lakes to rivers you will hardly know which way to look next.
White Mountains.
You will be again spending two nights in this area which will give you the time to either relax at the hotel, ride the Conway Scenic Railway or drive to Mount Washington.
Standard - Lodge at Lincoln.
Superior - Eagle Mountain House, Jackson.
Whether you spent your time in Jackson or North Conway leave the White Mountains as we are going to replace them with Green. Drive the fantastically named Kancamagus highway for a visit to Woodstock before getting to the mountain resort of Stowe.
Stowe.
Stowe, with its amazing range of things to do will be your home for 2 nights. Visit the world famous Ben and Jerrys Ice Cream Factory, Burlington and Lake Champion or the Shelburne Museum with its collection of Americana. (We say a visit to Ben and Jerrys is a must, as the ice creams are incredible to not only sample, but the store at the end of the tour is yum, yum yummy) Where else can you get the chance to eat your own Ice Cream Cone Tower
Standard - Commodores Inn.
Superior - Golden Eagle Resort.
Green Mountains.
Time to leave the mountains behind and head south to the Connecticut River Valley. Stop in Manchester with its shopping malls. If shoppings not your thing, then the shaker village or the towns of Lennox or Stockbridge.
New England Views
You will spend one night in the area at either :
Standard - Holiday Inn Enfield, Springfield.
Superior - Berkshire Fairfield Inn and Suites, Great Barrington.
On to New Englands Smallest State, Rhode Island and the town of Newport, making a stop at the living museum at Sturbridge or the maritime museum at Mystic. For us the 19th Century living museum is excellent and a definite must do.
Rhode Island.
You will have two nights in Newport, giving you the time to see the Cliff Walk and do the wonderful Ten Mile Drive, said to be the best 10 miles you can drive.

Newport is also said to be the sailing capital of the world and was home to the Americas Cup for over 50 years.
Standard - Howard Johnson Newport.
Superior - Viking Hotel.
Time to leave the Island and drive to Cape Cod where you will spend two nights to enjoy the stunning beaches, take a trip to Province Town, visit Marthas Vineyard or Nantucket.

Superior - Hyanis Resort and Conference Centre.
Leaving the Cape.
Your last day and an easy drive to Boston for your return flight, but make sure you allow enough time to check out Plymouth and the Plantation. Also try to squeeze in a look at Sandwich the oldest town in the cape.
Drop your car at Boston Airport for your return flight home.
